The seven parameters which differentiated Bloody Pond, Little Long Pond and Long Pond from the other three were Specific Conductance (indicating the presence of salts), Sodium, Chloride, Calcium, Magnesium, Hardness (indicating primarily the presence of calcium and magnesium) and Alkalinity(indicating the presence of calcium as calcium carbonate among other things).

 

The box plots below show the range of values for half of the water samples from each pond in red. The line across each box indicates the middle, or median, value of the readings for each pond. Whisker lines extend from the box to the highest and lowest readings with the exception of instances where extreme readings are shown outside of this range.
